As Marco departs the Red Hair Pirates ship taking him to Whitebeard's homeland Sphinx, he remembers leaving the land of Wano. It is revealed that Yamato's real reason for staying in Wano was to protect it after Ryokugyu's attack made her realize that more powerful people will try to invade the country. As Marco said his goodbyes, Luffy thanks him for protecting him in Marineford. Marco accepts his thanks and says that Ace would be proud of how far he had come before saying that the times belong to him and the other youngsters of his generation. Back to the present on Amazon Lily, Gloriosa laments at how the island was invaded by men with part of its mountain cut down and its town heavily damaged. A bandaged Boa Hancock tells her that so long as she stays on the island, the Marines will return, especially with the Warlord system abolished. A few weeks prior the Marines invade Amazon Lily to arrest Hancock with the aid of a pair their new Seraphim Pacifista. The Seraphim bore great resemblance to Hancock and Mihawk as children while also possessing Lunarian-like traits. However, the Blackbeard Pirates also invade Amazon Lily, where Blackbeard, along with Vasco Shot and Catarina Devon, plans to steal Hancock Devil Fruit power. Blackbeard fights the Seraphim who resembles a younger Mihawk, who slices the island's mountain in two. Meanwhile, Hancock engages the Marines and turns all of them (save for Koby) to stone, as well as Blackbeard's crew. The Seraphim try to attack Hancock, despite Koby's orders for them to stand down as their attacks would shatter the petrified Marines. Hancock attempts to strike Koby but she is intercepted by Blackbeard, who grabs her by the throat and nullifies her abilities with his Dark-Dark Fruit powers. Blackbeard, whose bounty is now 3.996 billion berries, expresses his desire to obtain her Devil Fruit, but she told him that her powers were nothing without her beauty. She added that if he killed her, his people would remain petrified, and the next user would be unable to undo the petrification.
