Full Plot Summary

spoilers

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba opens with Tanjiro Kamado living peacefully with his family in the mountains until a demon attack leaves his entire family dead and his sister Nezuko turned into a demon. The Water Hashira Giyu Tomioka initially spares Nezuko and sends Tanjiro to be trained by Sakonji Urokodaki, who teaches him Water Breathing. After passing the Final Selection, Tanjiro begins hunting demons with Nezuko under his care. He is joined by Zenitsu Agatsuma, a fearful but powerful Thunder Breathing user, and Inosuke Hashibira, a wild boy who can sense demons. Together they battle Lower and Upper Rank demons of the Twelve Kizuki. During the Mugen Train arc, Tanjiro meets the Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku, who is killed by Upper Three Akaza. At Swordsmith Village, Tanjiro awakens the mysterious Hinokami Kagura technique. The Entertainment District arc sees Tanjiro, Zenitsu, and Inosuke fight Upper Six. Muzan launches a final attack on the Demon Slayer headquarters, leading to the Infinity Castle arc where the Hashira face the Upper Moons in brutal battles. Nezuko develops sunlight immunity, making her key to defeating Muzan. After great sacrifice, Muzan is weakened by Tamayo's poison and destroyed by sunrise, turning Nezuko and all remaining demons back into humans.
